The best Thai massage in Gdynia — the therapist found every tense area of my back. I leave relaxed, with no neck pain after long hours at the computer. Tera Thai on Redłowska is a place I keep returning to.
The Balinese massage with hot stones at Tera Thai Gdynia is true SPA level. The atmosphere, the scents, the professionalism — you can feel the authenticity of Asian techniques. Highly recommended after training or office work.
I came in with shoulder pain after an injury. The therapist combined Shiatsu with deep-tissue work — results from the first session. The salon on Redłowska is quiet, clean and intimate. I keep coming back.
What your visit looks like
- Step 1
Oil selection and short interview
Coconut oil or aromatic blend, plus a short conversation about health (contraindications: hypertension, fresh injuries).
- Step 2
Classic Pijat Bali warm-up
First part is a traditional Balinese oil massage — prepares skin and tissues for stone heat.
- Step 3
Stone placement on the body
Therapist places stones on the back, in palms and between toes — warmth starts working with fascia.
- Step 4
Stone work (heated effleurage)
Therapist uses stones as „extensions of the hands” — long warm strokes release the deepest muscle layers.
- Step 5
Point pressure with a hot stone
In especially tight spots (paraspinal, neck) the stone is used as a pressure tool — very effective.
- Step 6
Calming with cool stones on forehead
Session ends with cool stones on forehead and temples — thermal contrast brings deep stillness.
About the treatment
Balinese hot stone massage uses natural Saraba stones from the volcanic regions of Indonesia. The stones are heated to about 50–55°C and placed on strategic energy points across the body.
The warmth of the stones penetrates deep into the tissues, releasing tight muscles and opening the skin's pores, which stimulates new cell growth. The therapist alternates stone work with Balinese kneading and acupressure, creating an extraordinarily soothing full-body ritual.

About Balinese Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage in the Balinese version (Hot Stone Pijat Bali) combines the traditional Pijat Bali technique with the geothermal properties of basalt volcanic stones. The stones come from Bali and Indonesia, naturally smoothed by millions of years of river erosion. Their mineral structure holds heat for a long time — the therapist warms them in a special heater to 50-55°C and works with them in a controlled way.
The session begins with a classic Pijat Bali sequence using coconut oil — preparing skin and muscles. Then the therapist places stones along the back, palms and between the toes — their warmth starts deep fascia work. In the second part the therapist uses the stones as „extensions of the hands” — long strokes, circular motions, pressure.
What does heat + pressure give? Blood vessels dilate, muscles release tension faster, fascia becomes more elastic. It's one of the few massages that can reach the deepest muscle layers without very strong pressure — the heat does the work for the fingers. That's why we recommend it to people who „don't tolerate deep tissue work” but want the same release.
Indications: chronic back tension, neck and shoulder stiffness from desk work, circulation issues, „cold feet”, a feeling of cold in the body after autumn-winter, recovery after long exertion. After a session most guests sleep „as if hospitalised” — deeply, restoratively, without waking.
