The best Thai massage in Gdynia — the therapist found every tense area of my back. I leave relaxed, with no neck pain after long hours at the computer. Tera Thai on Redłowska is a place I keep returning to.

The Balinese massage with hot stones at Tera Thai Gdynia is true SPA level. The atmosphere, the scents, the professionalism — you can feel the authenticity of Asian techniques. Highly recommended after training or office work.
    Tomasz P.
I came in with shoulder pain after an injury. The therapist combined Shiatsu with deep-tissue work — results from the first session. The salon on Redłowska is quiet, clean and intimate. I keep coming back.

    What your visit looks like

    1. Step 1

      Energetic interview

A short conversation about wellbeing, sleep, digestion, emotions — helps identify disturbed meridians.

    2. Step 2

      Position on the futon

Session is performed on a Japanese mat (futon) in comfortable clothing (provided).

    3. Step 3

      Working leg meridians

Session begins with pressure on leg points (bladder, kidney, gallbladder meridians).

    4. Step 4

      Back and neck

The deepest part — pressure along the bladder meridian running on both sides of the spine.

    5. Step 5

      Abdomen (hara)

In Japanese tradition, the abdomen (hara) is the centre of energy — gentle, circular finger work in breath rhythm.

    6. Step 6

      Face, head, hands

Session ends with pressure on face, temples and hands — balances energy in meridians ending in the head.

    About the treatment

Shiatsu ("finger pressure") is a Japanese manual therapy that originates from traditional Chinese medicine. The therapist applies rhythmic pressure with fingers, palms, elbows — and sometimes knees — on precisely defined Tsubo points along the meridians.

The session is performed in comfortable clothing, without oil. It combines acupressure stimulation with gentle stretching, helping to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation and support the body's natural self-healing.

    Contraindications

Before your session, always tell the therapist about your health, medication and any ailments. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

    • Fever, acute infections, contagious illness
    • Fresh injuries, fractures, open wounds or skin inflammation
    • Thrombosis, severe cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled hypertension
    • First trimester of pregnancy or high-risk pregnancy (without doctor's consent)
    • Cancer treatment in progress (doctor's consent required)
    • Alcohol or psychoactive substances consumed before the session
    • Acute spinal inflammation
    • Fresh injuries to the musculoskeletal system

    About Japanese Massage — Shiatsu

Shiatsu (Jap. „finger pressure”) is a Japanese manual therapy combining elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupressure, meridians), Ayurveda and Japanese Anma massage. Unlike European techniques, it doesn't work on muscles „for relaxation” but on meridians — channels of vital Qi (Ki in Japanese) energy. Goal: restore the body's energetic balance disrupted by stress, diet, irregular sleep and emotions.

A Shiatsu session is performed in comfortable clothing on a futon mat, without oil. The therapist uses thumbs, palms, elbows and knees to press specific points (tsubo) along meridians. Each pressure lasts a few breaths — this isn't massage in the classic sense but a series of precise point „activations”. Between presses come stretching, joint mobilisation and rotations.

At Tera Thai we practise Shiatsu in the Namikoshi style (classical, focused on anatomy and specific points), enriched with Zen Shiatsu elements (deeper meridian work). Our therapists train for many years — Shiatsu requires knowledge of around 360 tsubo points and 14 main meridians.

Indications: tension headaches, sleep problems, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, neck and shoulder tension, anxiety, „brain fog”. After a session most guests feel both deeply calm and newly energised — a hallmark of rebalanced Qi. Some describe Shiatsu as „acupuncture without needles”.
