What this massage involves
Deep tissue massage keeps the long, flowing movements and warm oil characteristic of Bali, but applies them with noticeably more force, reaching deeper muscle and fascia layers. The therapist uses forearms, elbows and knuckles to release chronically tense, “knotted” areas of the body.
This is a good choice for people with chronic muscle tension that doesn't ease up with a classic, lighter massage, as well as athletes recovering from intense exertion. The work can feel intense, but it's always matched to your pain tolerance.
Prefer a gentler, more relaxing version? See the classic Balinese massage – Pijat Bali.
The treatment step by step
- A conversation about chronically tense areas and your tolerance for firmer pressure.
- Warming the muscles with oil and the first, deeper strokes.
- Intensive forearm and elbow work on deep muscle layers.
- Focus on specific “knots” identified during the consultation.
- A calm close to the session and advice for afterwards.
Who this massage suits
- Chronic, deeply rooted muscle tension
- Athletes in recovery
- People who find a classic massage “too light”
- Stiffness in the back, neck and shoulders
- A gift — a special voucher for someone close to you
What a visit looks like
1. Consultation. A short conversation about how you're feeling and any contraindications.
2. Preparation. A shower is available on site; fresh towels and linens are all standard. Every massage also begins with a brief foot-washing ceremony.
3. Massage. The session is paced and pressured to match your needs. You can ask for changes at any time.
4. Afterwards. Take a moment to rest and drink a glass of water — no need to rush back into your day.
