What this massage involves
Thai sports massage combines traditional techniques — acupressure, stretching, work along the body's energy lines — with firmer, more targeted pressure suited to physically active people. The therapist focuses on the muscle groups most loaded during training.
You can come before a competition to warm up and prepare your muscles, or after intense exertion when you want them loosened up after training. Runners, cyclists and gym-goers also choose it when specific muscle groups are under heavy, constant load.
For even more intensive work with deep muscle layers, see our Balinese deep tissue massage. Also check our guides: massage after running and massage after the gym.
The treatment step by step
- A conversation about your activity type, overloaded areas and any injuries.
- Warming the muscles with oil and the first, deeper strokes.
- Targeted work on the most loaded muscle groups — legs, back, shoulders.
- Stretching of the most loaded muscle groups.
- Closing the session with hydration advice for afterwards.
