Thai massage and pregnancy — can you have one?
We don't perform classic Thai massage during pregnancy, because it relies on firm pressure, stretching and acupressure. In the first trimester we don't perform any massage. From the second trimester, with the consent of the doctor or midwife overseeing your pregnancy, we offer the Mother-to-Be Massage: a calm massage of the back, hips, neck and legs with gentle oils. It lasts 60, 90 or 120 minutes and costs from 229 PLN.

Why we don't do classic Thai massage during pregnancy
Classic Thai massage is a firm massage. The therapist works with strong pressure, stretches the body and presses on selected points (acupressure). We don't perform it in any trimester of pregnancy. We also don't offer expectant mothers the packages that include deep tissue or anti-cellulite massage.

Prices are the same in Gdańsk and Gdynia. You pay on site by cash, card or BLIK, with no deposit for 1–2 people. All other massages are on our price list.
What the Mother-to-Be Massage looks like
The visit starts with a short conversation about your pregnancy, how you feel and your doctor's or midwife's consent. For your first visit, come about 10 minutes early: we'll ask you to fill in a short health questionnaire. Then, as before every massage at Tera Thai, your therapist washes your feet with warm water. Your therapist works calmly on your back, hips, neck and legs with gentle, natural oils. We arrange your position so that you're comfortable, and you can ask for a different pace or pressure at any time. Afterwards there's a moment of rest and a glass of water. The massage is available at both salons, in Gdańsk Zaspa and Gdynia Redłowo.
When to postpone your visit
If you have bleeding, swelling, high blood pressure or gestational diabetes, your pregnancy is high-risk, or something worries you, postpone the massage and talk to your doctor or midwife first. Do the same if you feel unwell on the day. In Booksy or by phone you can reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your visit. What about after giving birth?
Agree with your doctor or midwife when you can return to massage after giving birth. Before the massage, tell your therapist about the birth. We ask about operations and treatments in recent months, and a caesarean section is one of them. Before your first visit, have a look at how to prepare for a massage.
The Mother-to-Be Massage as a gift
A Tera Thai voucher can be used for any treatment, this massage included. A 250 PLN voucher covers 60 minutes, 300 PLN covers 90 minutes and 400 PLN covers 120 minutes. It's valid for 6 months from purchase and can be redeemed in Gdańsk or Gdynia.
