Which Massage to Choose? A Guide to the Tera Thai Menu

First massage ever?
If you have no point of reference, the safest start is a classic Thai massage (no oil, done in clothing — less intimate) or a Balinese (warm oils, more relaxing). Both are gentle and the pressure is easy to adjust on the spot. The full story of a first visit is in a separate guide.
You have a specific ache or tension
Desk work, training or plain stress — a Thai massage with firmer pressure works well (see our guide to strong Thai massage), and so does Shiatsu (rhythmic acupressure, no oil). More on the mechanics in our article on massage for muscle tension, and for pain in one particular area see massage for back and neck pain. If you are torn between Thai and Shiatsu, we compare them in Shiatsu or Thai massage.
You want relaxation, not firm pressure
Then a Balinese massage or a relaxing Thai massage will serve you best — gentle pressure, slow tempo, work with the breath. We compared the two approaches in Thai or Balinese — which to choose.
Massage for two
When you want to rest together — one room, two tables, and each of you picks your own technique and pressure. Details in the couples massage guide.
Write or call and tell us in one sentence what you need — we will match the technique and intensity on the spot. The full menu with descriptions is under Massages, full prices in the price list. And if you would rather not choose at all — the 120-minute packages combine several techniques at one price, like Thai Paradise or Sports Recovery.
